Iran’s FM calls for urgent and unified action from the Muslim world to halt zionist regime actions in Gaza

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has vehemently denounced the actions of the Israeli regime against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. He underscored the critical necessity for a coordinated and swift response from Muslim nations to put an end to these acts.

During a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday, the senior diplomat emphasized the need for Muslim nations worldwide to undertake “decisive and unified” measures to address Israeli hostilities.

Araghchi highlighted the renewed hostilities by Israel against Gaza, which began on Tuesday in clear violation of Tel Aviv’s ceasefire agreement with Hamas, the ruling authority in the coastal region.

A recent wave of violence has resulted in the tragic deaths of over 1,000 Palestinians, with the majority being women and children. This is in addition to approximately 48,000 casualties already caused by the ongoing military offensive.

In the wake of ongoing violence, Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has issued a warning to potentially annex regions of Gaza if Hamas does not release Israeli captives who are currently within Palestinian territory.

Katz announced that the Israeli military has received orders to expand territorial control in Gaza. He cautioned that if Hamas continues to resist releasing the remaining hostages in a single group, it will face further territorial losses, which will be incorporated into Israel.

Hamas, which has released numerous captives under the initial phase of the ceasefire agreement, has rejected demands from the Israeli government. The group warned that there are no assurances Tel Aviv will honor its commitments by halting military operations, withdrawing from Gaza, and releasing thousands of Palestinians in exchange for the captives. Hamas pointed to Israel’s recent military actions in the Gaza Strip as evidence of a failure to adhere to the agreed terms.

In other parts of his statement, Araghchi condemned the ongoing military actions by the United States and the United Kingdom in Yemen, emphasizing the significant toll on innocent civilians, including women and children, and the devastation of the nation’s infrastructure.

He emphasized the collective duty of the international Muslim community to extend support to their brethren in the conflict-ridden and impoverished nation on the Arabian Peninsula.

The United States has intensified its lethal offensives against Yemen, following a declaration by President Donald Trump to “annihilate” Yemen’s Ansarullah popular resistance movement. This move is aimed at halting pro-Palestinian activities conducted by Sana’a in support of Gaza, according to official sources.

Prince Farhan reaffirmed Riyadh’s steadfast position in denouncing the deadly aggression carried out by the Israeli regime.

He emphasized the critical need for regional nations to engage in coordinated efforts and close collaboration to avert the escalation of the crisis.
