West not keen to interact with a culturally active Iran

Minister of Culture and the Islamic Guidance Mohammad Husseini said on Monday that the Western governments are not keen to cooperate with culturally active Iran.

He made the remarks in the Scientific Meeting on the Role and Status of Cultural Elites and Outputs of Modern Islamic Civilization.

Citing the feedback of cultural interaction between Iran and the other nations, Hosseini said that numerous nations have appreciated Iranian culture and sentiments of solidarity and arts.

Husseini criticized the western governments for propaganda campaign against Iran adding that they do not like to see an active Iran in cultural arena.

“Iran has historically been famous with science, culture, knowledge and art, but after Islamic revolution, the western governments, especially the US tried to depict Iran differently and introduce it with wars, violence, weapons of mass destruction and prone to military encounter with world, while history proves Iran has always cherished the humanitarian values such as love, passion, friendship, sincerity, kindness, and affection,” he said.

The Minister said Iran has never attacked any country during the past 100 years and if involved in any war it was not offensive but defensive to protect its land and dignity.

Husseini said, ‘We are disappointed with western politicians but we trust western artists and we wish to interact more with them to introduce the real Image of Iran to them.’
