World media distorts Syrian crisis

938347_thumSunni Mufti of Syria’s parliament emphasized the unity of the Syrian people and criticized the world media for distorting the Syrian crisis.
Sheikh Zakaria Slovayeh, Sunni Mufti of Ladheqieh and Member of Syrian Parliament, on the sidelines of the International Scholars Conference and Islamic Awakening in Tehran, Stressing that there is no clan war in Syria said: “the world media is distorting the Syrian crisis.”

Sheikh Zakaria said: “At first there were some people’s peaceful demands that the government attended to those issues, however, we observed that there is a conspiracy to destroy Syria being formed; and the conspiracy was formed because; Syria has always been at the forefront of defending Palestine, and the occupied territories was as important as the Golan Heights.”

Sunni Mufti of Syria, in response to a question about the new scenario of the West regarding the case of chemical weapons in Syria stressed: “this is also part of the media to mislead the public, and for possible military intervention in Syria, since, first they used the
pretext of ‘no freedom’, and then they raised the project of tribes and minorities, which was encountered with the unity of the Syrian people.”

Sheikh Zakaria stressed the significant victories of the Syrian army and pointed to the ‘Fatwa for Jihad’ in Syria and said: “Those who issued Fatwa (a legal pronouncement in Islam) for Jihad in Syria, are the same people who have not dared to issue Fatwa against apartheid Israel yet.”

He pointed to the terrorists groups in Syria and said: “the US and its circle of allies, including Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, are the main sponsors of extremist groups in Syria, and some Arab countries want to change their position on Syria, but they afraid of their master, the US.”

The International Scholars Conference and Islamic Awakening was held starting Monday, for two days with political and religious figures of the Islamic World in Tehran.
