Worldwide rejection of aggression on Syria sees growing momentum

20130915-173344Worldwide manifestations of solidarity with Syria and rejection of the US and Western threats of launching an aggression are gaining momentum daily and taking various forms including seminars, sit-ins and rallies.

Peace-lovers and anti-war activists and supporters abroad are sharing the Syrians their rejection of the false allegations about chemical weapons use brought by Western sides against their government.

Syrians in France stress cooperation with Syrian leadership against terrorists

In this context, members of the Syrian community in France staged Saturday a protest in Charles de Gaulle Square in Rouen city denouncing any military intervention in Syria.

Waving the Syrian flags and photos of President Bashar al-Assad, the protesters chanted slogans rejecting war on Syria.

They stressed the importance of cooperation with the Syrian leadership instead of providing support to the armed terrorist groups so as to end the crisis and achieve the interest of the Syrian people.

Solidarity event in Canada

Meanwhile in Canada, Syrian expatriates and a number of Canadian anti-war associations and clergymen organized an event in Montreal to express solidarity with the Syrian army and leadership until achieving victory.

The participants voiced their rejection of the false allegations circulated by the Western media against Syria and its people, considering that the capitalist interests are the motives behind launching an aggression on Syria.

25 leftist organizations in Brazil express support to Syria

A march was organized by the Syrian Honorary Consulate in Curitiba city in the Brazilian state of Parana in support of Syria and rejection of any potential attack against it.

Some 25 leftist organizations and Islamic and Christian associations participated in the march during which, the Syrian flags were raised.

Placards in the hands of the participants showed slogans denouncing all forms of foreign intervention in Syria and others greeting the Syrian armed forces and Syria’s friends.

Tunisians organize demonstration and sit-in to reject potential aggression on Syria

The Tunisian General Federation for Labor in El Kef governorate organized a peaceful demonstration to support Syria’s people and leadership in the face of US threats of military aggression.

Participants, who included representatives of parties and organizations and locals, marched down the streets of El Kef city carrying Syrian and Tunisian flags and chanting slogans rejecting military intervention in Syria and denouncing the Arab countries that supported foreign intervention.

In Gabes governorate, dozens of Tunisians organized a sit-in in front of the General Federation for Labor to voice rejection of the potential aggression on Syria.

The participants denounced the Tunisian government for participating in the conspiracy against Syria and chanting slogans against the US President, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Turkish Prime Minister, the rulers of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and Rachid al-Ghannouchi whom they described as a “butcher.”

The participants, carrying Syrian, Palestinian and Tunisian flags and pictures of President Bashar al-Assad, lauded the resilience and sacrifices of the Syrian Army and called for restoring diplomatic relations with Syria immediately.

Iraqi figures to coordinate solidarity activities and legal steps against aggression

In another context, the Iraqi Popular Committee for Supporting Syria and the Resistance organized a seminar in Baghdad, which included a number of prominent Iraqi political figures and leaders.

The attendees stressed the importance of providing support for Syria in the face of any potential US military strike against Syria.

They also denounced the fierce attack launched against Syria by the powers of world arrogance, which is being implemented by the armed terrorist groups with the help of the reactionary Arab sheikhdoms for two and a half years.

The Committee’s Coordinator, Hussein al-Rubai’ei, said in a statement to SANA that the goal of this seminar is to mobilize the public and the political movements and parties against the potential aggression.

The participants noted that they are working to coordinate future joint activities inside and outside Iraq and take legal steps against the aggression at the international and regional forums.

Abdullah al-Lami, Secretary General of the Arab Trend in Iraq, called for withdrawing the Nobel Peace Prize from US President Barack Obama over his threats of striking Syria.

For his part the Committee’s representative in Europe, Maitham al-Zeidi, stressed that the Iraqi and Arab youths abroad are ready to take up arms and fight alongside the Syrian Arab army in the face of any aggression against Syria.
