Yemen cautions US about encountering a scenario more severe than the Vietnam War should an invasion of Hudaydah take place

Yemen has issued a cautionary statement to the United States, suggesting severe repercussions should Washington proceed with an alleged plan to invade the western port city of al-Hudaydah. The warning implies that the consequences could surpass the significant challenges and casualties experienced by American forces during the Vietnam War.

Jamal Ahmed Ali Amer, the Foreign Minister of Yemen’s National Salvation Government, issued a warning in a post on the social media platform X on Monday.

A spokesperson has claimed that the U.S. administration has started disseminating details regarding a purported strategy it aims to implement, in an effort to compel Yemen to halt its pro-Palestinian activities targeting Israel and entities linked to Israel.

Amer stated that Washington began disclosing information after its comprehensive attempts to undermine the Arab Peninsula nation proved unsuccessful.

He warned that any hasty actions by the United States could lead to consequences far more severe than those experienced during the Vietnam War.

“Amer concluded by stating that free individuals do not submit, and the American government does not govern by divine decree.”

Since October, Yemen’s Armed Forces have launched a series of strikes, numbering in the hundreds, targeting areas within the occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli vessels, including those approaching or departing from these regions. This military activity follows the initiation of what has been described as a genocidal conflict by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip, with full backing from the United States and its allied nations.

The United States and the United Kingdom have been exerting pressure on Sana’a to cease its operations by conducting aerial bombardments on various targets throughout Yemen.

In recent developments, American and British military aircraft have carried out 15 airstrikes on Sana’a and the northwestern city of Sa’ada. The United States deployed its B-2 stealth bombers as part of this operation.

Yemeni forces have declared their intentions to continue their military actions unabated, insisting they will persist until Israel ceases its ongoing ground and aerial operations in Gaza.
