Yemeni Armed Forces Launch Drone and Missile Attacks on Ben Gurion Airport and Israeli Targets

The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the execution of a coordinated military operation involving 11 missiles and drones, targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv as well as multiple other locations across the region.

Yemeni army spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on Monday that the nation’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and thwarted what he described as Zionist aggression, aimed at targeting several cities within Yemen.

He stated that the military undertook the operation following the removal of several combat units involved in the hostility from the airspace, in an effort to avert any potential air strikes.

He highlighted that the counter-offensive employed several surface-to-air missiles produced domestically.

He stated that the missile and UAV forces executed a coordinated military operation in response to the Israeli government’s acts of aggression against their nation, and as a show of continued solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian community.

Military spokesperson Saree announced that their forces launched a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile targeting Lod Airport. Additionally, a hypersonic ballistic missile was aimed at the Ashdod Port and the power station located in the occupied Ashkelon area, while the Eliat Port was targeted with eight drones.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced that their missiles and drones have successfully hit their intended targets, with interceptor systems failing to neutralize them.

The adversaries in the conflict with Yemen will come to understand that any acts of aggression will come at a significant cost and will only strengthen the resolve and determination of the Yemeni people, he emphasized.

The attacks by adversaries are likely to motivate Yemenis to increase operations in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people, he observed.

He underscored that the steadfast citizens of Yemen, along with its devoted leadership and resilient military, are fully equipped to counter any adversary’s military strategies.

The spokesman affirmed Yemen’s readiness for an extensive and enduring conflict against adversarial aircraft, while aiming to dismantle the naval blockade enforced by the enemy’s armed forces.

The Yemeni armed forces have vowed to persist in their commitment to uphold their religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities in supporting the beleaguered Palestinian population in Gaza. This dedication will endure until the Israeli regime’s hostilities cease and the blockade on the Strip is lifted.

On Sunday, Israeli aviation authorities announced the suspension of all incoming and outgoing flights at Ben Gurion International Airport. The facility will remain closed “until further notice,” they stated.

Pan-Arab media outlets have reported that international air travel to and from the Israeli-occupied territories has been effectively severed. This development comes as air raid sirens echoed across various locations in the Dead Sea region after the launch of a ballistic missile.

As hostilities in Gaza escalated, Yemeni authorities initiated a strategic blockade on crucial maritime routes. This move is intended to obstruct the flow of military supplies to Israel and urge the international community to address the unfolding humanitarian crisis in the region.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intention to persist with their assaults until Israel ceases its ground and aerial operations in Gaza. The conflict, which commenced on October 7, 2023, has resulted in the loss of more than 57,400 Palestinian lives.
