Yemeni Armed Forces Unveil Video of ‘Magic Seas’ Sinking Post-Assault

Yemen's military forces have published video evidence of the interception and destruction of the vessel Magic Seas, whose ownership allegedly defied Yemen's embargo against ships bound for Israel.

Footage reveals the ship’s crew disregarding repeated calls and warnings from naval forces, prompting subsequent military intervention.

The footage captures the sequence in which the Magic Seas was attacked by unmanned naval vessels, subsequently followed by an operation conducted by the Yemeni Special Forces, resulting in the vessel’s sinking.

On Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, issued a warning emphasizing that they would employ necessary measures to deter vessels from any company engaging with the Zionist adversary and breaching the prohibition on accessing occupied Palestinian ports.

He stated, “We declare that this company’s vessels are legitimate targets for our forces wherever accessible, and they are fully accountable.”

Saree announced that Yemeni military forces are committed to obstructing Israeli maritime activity in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, as well as targeting the functionality of the port of Eilat, until hostilities against Gaza cease and the prevailing blockade is lifted.

The MV Magic Seas, a bulk carrier operated by a Greek company and registered under the Liberian flag, was en route to the occupied territories.

The Red Sea, a vital passage for oil and goods alongside Yemen’s coastline, has seen Yemen’s armed forces enforce a ban on ships heading to Israel since November 2023. This move comes to show solidarity with Gaza, following the initiation of what has been described as a campaign of genocide by Israel in the region.
