Palestinians go on strike to mourn victims of Israeli attack on Jenin

Palestinians in various parts of the occupied West Bank and al-Quds have held a general strike to mourn the victims of the latest Israeli raid into Jenin.

According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency on Friday, businesses, schools, universities and various other facilities shut down their doors in Jenin and other towns. The strike also included public transportation.

Israeli undercover soldiers broke into downtown Jenin on Thursday, killing four Palestinians and injuring 20 others.

The four Palestinians killed have been identified as Omar Awadin, 16, Nedal Khazem, 28, Youssef Shreim, 29, and Louay al-Zughair, 37.

The latest Israeli crime brings up the number of Palestinians killed by the regime forces since the beginning of this year to 88, including 17 children and an elderly woman.

The Palestinian Health Ministry says hundreds of others have also been injured by Israeli forces in the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip.

Most of the victims were targeted in Jenin and Nablus, where the regime forces have this year conducted several deadly raids in an attempt to crack down on growing resistance activities by the Palestinians.

Local and international rights groups have condemned Israel’s excessive use of force and “shoot-to-kill policy” against the Palestinians.
