4 Mossad-Linked Saboteurs Hanged in Iran

Tehran announced on Monday it has executed four individuals convicted of collaborating with Israel on a plan to sabotage an Iranian defense site in the central city of Isfahan.

The four main members of a Mossad-affiliated team, namely Mohammad Faramarzi, Mohsen Mazloum, Vafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi, had illegally entered Iran from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They were captured by the intelligence ministry before carrying out a bombing operation against a factory producing defense and missile equipment for the defense ministry in Isfahan.

They had been sentenced to death by a court in September 2023.

The convicts had been recruited by a top member of the Komala terrorist group, and joined Mossad a year and a half before the operation in Iran.

They had undergone training in military bases in several African countries and held meetings even with Director of the Mossad David Barnea.

Iran’s foes, mainly Israel and the US, have been engaged attempts to spy on and sabotage Iran’s defense and nuclear industries.

Iran has in recent years captured several members of spy networks affiliated to foreign secret services. The militants were involved in making explosives and hand-made bombs and linked to foreigners and planned to carry out counter-security acts and terror operations.

In December 2023, Iran executed five spies convicted of collecting classified information for Mossad, and working with the Israeli spy agency and participating in armed kidnapping, intimidation and assault of security forces.
