Hospitals have issued a request for the public to refrain from donating blood at this time, citing an overwhelming capacity.
A somber atmosphere prevailed outside the American University of Beirut Medical Center as numerous individuals were visibly overcome with grief, amid the treatment of several casualties.
Eyewitnesses informed reporters that they observed luminous trails across the sky followed by significant explosions.
Residents in these neighborhoods were seen fleeing and shouting, visibly shaken by the traumatic events unfolding.
A significant influx of individuals from the southern suburbs of Beirut has sought refuge in the densely populated neighborhoods of central Beirut. It is estimated that approximately 700,000 people have moved from the southern districts into these central areas.
At the entrance of Beirut Medical Center’s emergency ward, an elderly woman sat, gently rocking back and forth, her eyes betraying a sense of bewilderment and shock.
A messenger approached the woman with tragic news, informing her, “Abbas’s son and daughter have become martyrs,” while placing a hand on her shoulder to offer some comfort.
Shortly thereafter, the woman became visibly emotional and began to weep.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry has reported that since October 2023, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of over 2,141 individuals and left 10,099 wounded. The victims include numerous children and a significant number of women.
