Zionist forces fatally shoot Palestinian teenager in head during West Bank raid

According to Palestinian health officials, Israeli military forces have fatally shot a Palestinian teenager during a raid in a city located in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Eighteen-year-old Mahmoud Ibrahim al-Haroub was struck in the right eye by a live bullet during an Israeli military operation in Dura, a city situated approximately eleven kilometers (6.8 miles) southwest of al-Khalil. This incident occurred on Monday evening, according to a report by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, which referenced information from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Israeli troops engaged with young Palestinians, using live ammunition, sound grenades, and tear gas canisters in an effort to fend them off.

According to witnesses, two young men were shot and wounded in the clashes, and many others experienced respiratory issues from inhaling tear gas deployed by Israeli forces.

Haroub was hospitalized in critical condition after an Israeli force’s bullet pierced his right eye and lodged in his head. Reports indicated that he succumbed to his severe injuries a few hours later.

Throughout the night, Israeli forces also raided multiple other towns in the occupied West Bank, including the city of Tubas as well as the towns of Tammun and Jaba’.

In Tammun, a town situated 13 kilometers (8 miles) northeast of Nablus, Israeli forces detained two brothers following a raid on their residence.

Explosions echoed through Tubas as Israeli forces, along with a military bulldozer, conducted a raid on the city.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, a coalition of Palestinian armed factions based in the West Bank, announced in a brief statement that resistance forces are currently repelling Israeli troops in both cities.

Simultaneously, gunfire erupted while Israeli troops conducted a raid in Jaba’, located south of Jenin, positioning themselves near the town’s municipal offices.

Intense confrontations have been reported between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli forces in the vicinity of al-Salam Mosque in Nablus.

Since Israel launched its offensive against the blockaded Gaza Strip in early October 2023, the West Bank has seen a surge in casualties due to increasingly frequent and intense raids into its villages and cities.

WAFA reports that Israeli forces have killed at least 636 Palestinians, including 147 children, in the West Bank since the start of the Gaza conflict.

In the past 10 months, at least 40,139 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have lost their lives in what has been described as the Israeli genocidal conflict against Gaza.
