Zionist Israeli troops seal key entrance to West Bank town

Inhuman Israeli military forces have shut down the main entrance to the occupied West Bank town of Nabi Saleh amid growing tensions in the area between native residents and the regime’s troops.

The Israeli soldiers also sealed off the main road leading into the Ramallah-area town early on Saturday without any advance notice, Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported.

According to a military spokesperson for the Tel Aviv regime, soldiers “temporarily closed a route into the [Palestinian] village” due to “violent riots” on the previous day.

The army spokesperson failed to elaborate on the duration of the closure, claiming that the reopening would be “based on operational assessment” of the town.

Israeli troops reportedly raided the town on Friday while firing large quantities of tear gas, which led to hospitalization of a resident.

The town is among numerous Palestinian communities that have been subject to surging incursions in continuing attempts to curb the recent wave of protests against persisting violence by Israeli forces and illegal settlers.

Among the restrictive means on roads leading into and out of many Palestinian villages and towns are roadblocks, and  temporary checkpoints.

According to locals, Israeli forces have also instituted arbitrary closure of roadways to block Palestinian access to roads used by Israelis and settlers since the latest surge of clashes between residents and occupying forces in October 2015.
