A prominent Lebanese analyst underlined that the al-Aqsa mosque is the victim of a plot hatched by Israel after signing an accord with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1995 (Oslo II).
The Oslo II Accord was first signed in Taba (in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt) by Israel and the PLO on 24 September 1995 and then four days later on 28 September 1995 by Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat.

“The plots to divide the al-Aqsa mosque between the Muslims and Jews is a part of the political agreement inked by the PLO leader and the Israeli officials in 1995,” Moe’in Mana’ told FNA on Saturday.

He said that the occupying Zionist regime is now using the current internal differences in Palestine to its benefit.

He said the al-Aqsa mosque should have never gone under a division plan, as the plan has paved the way for the Israelis to bully the Palestinians and usurp their rights.

His comments came as the Palestinians staged massive demonstrations across the West Bank, Gaza strip and Jerusalem (al-Quds) after Friday prayers to condemn the Israeli forces’ continued insults to the al-Aqsa Mosque.

Clashes broke out between the Palestinian worshipers in al-Aqsa mosque and the Israeli forces after they banned those under the age of forty years of access the mosque.

“In light of the intelligence we received about the intention of the Palestinian youths to disturb the peace at Friday prayers on Temple Mount, it was decided to limit the age of Muslim worshippers,” claimed a police statement, using the Hebrew term for Al-Aqsa holy mosque.

The Zionist police beefed up their numbers in Al-Quds to face the worshipers and closed roads in the Old City.

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas dubbed this day a “day of rage” to coincide with the Friday prayers.

Several Palestinians were injured this week after the Israeli forces clashed with worshipers in Al-Aqsa mosque, firing a barrage of sound bombs, toxic tear gas and rubber bullets on them and causing damage to the sacred mosque.
