VIDEO: Fighters, civilians evacuated from last militant-held district in Homs

Footage released on Wednesday shows Russian officers helping to organize the evacuation of fighters and civilians from the last militant-held district of Homs, the al-Waer district.

With the assistance of the military and international humanitarian organizations, civilians and militants along with their families, were evacuated from the al-Waer district to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.

More than 1,500 people were evacuated from al-Waer, with around half of the evacuees believed to be militants.

They decided to join reconciliation process after safety was promised to them and to their families.
