Iran considers expansion of brotherly relations with Muslim nations as its duty, Ansari said in a meeting with special envoy from Comoros Mohamed Bakri Ben Abdoulfatah Charif in Tehran on Wednesday.

He said Iran is prepared to share experience with Comoros to uplift Comorians’ standard of living.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ansari warned against enemies’ efforts to divide Muslim governments and to present a distorted image of Islam and Muslims to the world through terrorist measures and massacre.

“The ever-long plan and strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this line is drastic campaign against violence and terrorism and trying to establish peace and brotherhood worldwide.”

The Iranian officials have made efforts to further expand Tehran’s ties and cooperation with African states.

Iran is an observing member of the African Union (AU) and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.

The country is considered as one of the AU’s strategic partners along with India, Japan, China, several South American states and Turkey, while Tehran is also believed to be prioritizing promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states.
