Zionist Terror Regime Launches Lethal Strikes on Gaza Amidst International Pleas for Ceasefire Resumption

Zionist regime has intensified its aggressive strikes on the Gaza Strip, despite international appeals for the restoration of a ceasefire intended to halt the ongoing conflict affecting Palestinians in the enclave.

The civil defense agency in Gaza reported on Tuesday that Israeli airstrikes overnight resulted in the deaths of at least 19 civilians, including multiple children, throughout the Palestinian territory.

Civil defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal reported the tragic loss of life due to recent strikes. A home in the central city of Deir el-Balah was hit, resulting in the deaths of five children and four adults. Meanwhile, two separate pre-dawn attacks on Gaza City and Beit Lahia in the north resulted in a combined total of 10 fatalities.

Monday’s airstrikes conducted by the military forces of the occupation in the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of dozens more individuals.

An aerial assault recently targeted a tent camp occupied by journalists in the courtyard of Nasser Hospital, located in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis.

The assault resulted in the tragic deaths of Palestine Today TV journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and another individual, identified as Yousef al-Khazindar.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has denounced the death of Faqawi, labeling it as an act of “extrajudicial killing.” The Ministry claims the incident is consistent with what it describes as Israel’s escalating offenses against members of the press and efforts to obstruct media coverage of events transpiring on the ground.

Israel has continued its actions in the region despite urgent appeals from six United Nations agencies for the immediate reinstatement of the Gaza ceasefire, as the humanitarian crisis in the area escalates.

In a joint declaration, it was cautioned that for over a month, no commercial or humanitarian aid has reached the besieged area, where more than 2.1 million Palestinians are “isolated, subjected to bombardments, and facing starvation anew.”

On October 7, 2023, Israel initiated a military operation in Gaza, which has resulted in significant casualties among the Palestinian population, including women and children. The conflict has led to the deaths of 50,752 individuals and injuries to over 115,475 people. Despite these impacts, the operation has not yet met its stated objectives.

The controlling authority agreed to the longstanding negotiation terms set forth by Hamas as part of the Gaza ceasefire, which commenced on January 19.

On March 18, Israel unilaterally violated the ceasefire and recommenced its intensive aerial bombardment of Gaza.
