Syrian Army resumes east Damascus offensive after terrorists refuse to surrender

The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) High Command demanded on Monday that the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham put down their weapons and surrender the Al-Qaboun, Harasta, and Barzeh suburbs of east Damascus or else the government would resume their offensive operations.

As expected, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham refused this offer by the government, prompting the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command to once again order their forces to strike the jihadist defenses at these three important suburbs.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army launched several surface-to-surface missiles towards Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s defenses this morning, scoring direct hits on a number of installations around Al-Qaboun.

The military operations in east Damascus this morning were led by the Syrian Arab Army’s elite 42nd Brigade; they are considered one of the most effective ground forces in the prestigious 4th Mechanized Division.
