Iran’s Top Commander: Enemies Frustrated by Recent Wargames

“In fact, these exercises showed the power and readiness of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces to the world and the enemies and warmed the hearts of the Iranian nation and made the enemies hopeless,” Major General Baqeri said on Monday.

“Over the past two months, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been facing threats that the former US stupid president was had posed against the sacred Islamic Republic establishment,” he noted, adding, “It was necessary for the Iranian Armed Forces to demonstrate their preparedness; thus, they conducted 10 military exercises in just 15 days.”

“The enemy stated several times during these exercises that it had no intention of attacking, and its moves were purely defensive while being worried about the actions of the allies of the Islamic Republic on the martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Soleimani,” the commander went on to say.

In relevant remarks earlier this week, General Baqeri lauded the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Army for staging massive drills in the past few weeks, and warned of the country’s crushing and unimaginable response to any threat and aggression.

“The arrogant trans-regional powers, specially the US terrorist regime and the regional reactionary regimes, are ware that the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces’ reciprocal, crushing and destructive strike is unimaginable and they are prepared for immediate and rapid reaction response to their strategic mistake of having greedy eyes to the Islamic land (Iran)’s independence, security and territorial integrity,” General Baqeri said in a message to Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami on Wednesday.

He praised the high-ranking military officials and their forces for holding the recent Eqtedar 99 and Payambar-e Azam 15 (the Great Prophet 15) drills in Makran coast, the Southern areas of the Sea of Oman and the Northern parts of the Indian Ocean, successfully.

General Baqeri stated that these large-scale drills demonstrated the power and comprehensive readiness of the Armed Forces, and added that undoubtedly, the strategic achievements of Iran’s defense industry, parts of which were exposed to the world, will make the Zionist Regime and arrogant powers keep wondering about the will, power and strategy of the Islamic Republic for a long time.

In his message, he also underlined the need for increasing the defense and deterrence power of the country under the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution as well as monitoring the threatening moves with comprehensive intelligence supremacy.

The Iranian Army Ground Force started wargames, codenamed Eqtedar 99, in the country’s Southeastern regions on Tuesday morning.

The drills were participated by the airborne units, special forces and rapid reaction brigades, and General Mousavi, Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari and other senior military officials.

Also, the IRGC started the first phase of the Great Prophet 15 wargames with the IRGC Aerospace Force’s massive missile launch and drone operations in the Central Desert of Iran on Friday.

The first stage of the Great Prophet (Payambar-e Azam) 15 drills of the IRGC kicked off on Friday morning with the codename of “Ya Fatimah al-Zahar”, during which ground-to-ground ballistic missiles were fired and offensive drone bombers operations were put into action in the general area of Iran’s Central Desert.

During the drills that began in the presence of General Salami, IRGC Aerospace Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh and a number of senior commanders and officials of the Iranian Armed Forces, a new generation of ground-to-ground ballistic missiles and drones were used in compound offensive against hypothetical enemy bases, destroying all the specified targets.

General Salami said on Tuesday that the recent wargames staged by the Iranian Armed Forces were aimed at displaying the country’s deterrent power and dissuade hostile moves by enemies.

“These drills are an important part of the Iranian nation’s deterrence policy,” General Salami told reporters in Tehran.

“Our finger is on the trigger on behalf of the great Iranian nation,” General Salami said, and warned, “The Armed Forces’ recent wargames carried an explicit message to the enemies to avoid miscalculation.”

He added that the wargames give self-confidence and peace of mind to the Iranian nation and send this message to the enemies that the country is serious about defending its honor and is always ready for defense.
