Nasrallah: ‘Israel is trying to Judaize al-Quds’

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has warned about the Judaization of al-Quds (Jerusalem), saying the holy city is part of the Islamic religion.

Speaking on the occasion of the international Quds Day, Nasrallah said on Friday that Zionist Occupation Israel is trying to Judaize al-Quds by expanding the illegal Jewish settlements there.

Nasrallah also called on the Arab League and the leaders of the Muslim world to recognize the Palestinian right to al-Quds, adding that all the troubles of Palestinians are rooted in the Israeli occupation.

The leader of the Lebanese Resistance Movement also called for an end to the Israeli occupation and the formation of an independent Palestinian state on the entirety of Palestinian lands.

”The Palestinians have the right to negotiate over the 1967 borders but they should not take place at the expense of the rest of Palestine as we aspire for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state,” he told crowds of his supporters in the southern border town of Maroun al-Ras via video link.

The Hezbollah chief also touched upon the developments in neighboring Syria, stressing that dialogue is the only solution to the situation in the country.

He also warned Syrians about what he called US efforts to pressure the country into making concessions, saying that Washington does not want reforms in Syria.

“All those who claim they are friends of Syria … must step up efforts to help calm the situation in Syria and encourage dialogue and a peaceful resolution,” he said.
