Under zionist embargo, Gaza faces tragedy of power shortage in cold winter

Ekran Alıntısı

The cold nights of winter have approached in Gaza while Gazans are least prepared. They only have 6 hours of electricity a day, at best and spend most of their nights in the dark. The cuts are affecting all aspects of daily life. Press TV’s camera has visited a house in Al-Shati refugee camp along the Mediterranean Sea to view the poor condition they are living in.

The fuel shortage leading to the power crisis is affecting all Gazans. Children say they study and prepare for their final exams using candles to keep them warm and provide them with some light.

Gaza Energy Authority has warned that the power shortage might be even reduced to just 4 hours a day this winter. That would worsen an already appalling situation.

Gazans have called on acting Palestinian chief Mahmoud Abbas and humanitarian organizations to help end to the on-going power crisis.

Gazans in the impoverished coastal enclave are anticipating yet more sufferings if the fuel shortage and the power crisis continue especially in the cold season of winter.
