2 civilian lost their lives and 7 sustained injuries after Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on Gazans waiting to return home

In violation of the recently established ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces have reportedly discharged firearms at a gathering of Palestinians near a military barrier, obstructing their return to residences in the northern region.

Two individuals lost their lives and seven others, including a child, sustained injuries due to gunfire from Israeli forces on Sunday, according to medical sources.

According to reports, Israeli forces fatally shot a young Palestinian and injured two others in the vicinity of the Nusairat refugee camp located in central Gaza on Sunday.

A young man was fatally shot by military forces in central Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources have reported that regime forces fired upon a group of displaced civilians enduring cold conditions as they awaited permission to return to their homes in northern Gaza.

Military vehicles stationed along the Netzarim Corridor, the dividing line between the northern and southern regions of Gaza, obstructed the path for Palestinians attempting to proceed northward. This development follows the anticipated second phase of the prisoner exchange scheduled for Saturday evening.

In a recent statement, Hamas accused Israel of contravening the ceasefire agreement initiated on January 19, which was established to conclude 15 months of what the group describes as a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing by the Israeli government. Hamas claims that Israel’s obstruction of the return of displaced Palestinians constitutes a breach of this agreement.

According to reports, the Israeli authorities are postponing the execution of the agreed-upon terms within the established agreement.

Israel has announced that it will not permit the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza until the release of Arbel Yehud, an Israeli female abductee, is secured.

Hamas has released seven captives in exchange for 290 Palestinian detainees, according to recent developments. The organization has reportedly communicated with mediators, confirming that Yehud is alive and assuring that all necessary guarantees for her release have been made.

As reported by the Gaza Health Ministry on Sunday, the death toll resulting from the ongoing hostilities has escalated to 47,306.

According to the ministry, hospitals have received a total of 23 bodies over the past three days. Among these, 14 were reportedly “recovered from under the rubble,” five individuals “succumbed to their injuries” sustained earlier, and there have been four additional fatalities. The details regarding the circumstances of the new fatalities were not disclosed by the ministry.

Aid organizations and health authorities report that thousands of bodies remain trapped beneath debris and along roadways, with ambulance and civil defense units unable to access these areas.
