Resolutions against Iran are not ‘a piece of torn paper’

803405_thumPresidential hopeful Ali Akbar Velayati has said that UN resolutions against Iran are more than simply “a piece of torn paper,” adding that Iran should engage with the world through an effective diplomacy.
Addressing a group of his supporters in the holy city of Qom on Monday, Velayati said, “Issuing statements inside the country is not called diplomacy. Diplomacy is that the Islamic Republic of Iran can make its way into the international scene” to create a better life for its people.

He added that if he is elected president, he will appoint religious, experienced, moderate, and professional people to government posts.

“My government will make efforts to solve the internal and external problems, and at the same time defend its nuclear right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes,” the former foreign minister noted.
