Iraqi Sunni cleric: Ayatollah Sistani, jurisprudent for Shia and Sunni communities

 

Sheikh Ali Al-Ezzi, deputy of the al-Shafe’i Institute in Iraq, and a group of Sunni scholars visited the holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) hailing the struggles of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani, senior Shia jurisprudent for the lives of Iraqi nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” The Jihad fatwa (religious statement by jurisprudent) by Ayatollah Sistani led to solidarity and saving the lives of Iraqi people.”

Deputy of Shafe’i Institute praised Shia cleric, Ayatollah Sistani as the guarantee for security and stability of Iraq and stressed,” Ayatollah Sistani is the jurisprudent for all Iraqi people, including Shia, Sunni, Kurd and Turkmen.”

He called Iraqi people as a family that cannot be divided by anyone.

Sheikh al Ezzi also expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), for the Iraqi refugees.
