Brazil hails rights cooperation with Iran

Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff has welcomed the expansion of human rights cooperation between the parliaments of Iran and Brazil.

On Saturday, Rousseff described a letter to her by the head of Human Rights Commission of the Iranian Parliament Zohreh Elahian as positive, IRNA reported.

Recently, Rousseff had expressed concern over human rights conditions in Iran.

In response to Rousseff’s statements, Elahian explained human rights conditions in Iran to the Brazilian president in the letter, asking her to receive such information via credible sources.

In a statement published on the official website of the Brazilian president, Rousseff also voiced her support for further participation of both countries in bilateral and multilateral issues.

Brazil will put human rights at the center stage of its foreign policies, with an impartial approach, she added.
