President Ahmadinejad in Ashkhabad for Nowruz intˈl celebrations

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heading a high ranking delegation arrived in Ashkhabad today (Thursday) to attend the fourth Nowruz international celebrations themed ˈFestivity of Peace and Humanityˈ.

According to IRNA, prior to his departure for Turkmenistan, he said the Iranian nation always seek idealism and it is for thousands of years that the Iranian people have held Nowruz cultural festivity.
His visit takes place upon the official invitation extended by his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
During his one-day stay, President Ahmadinejad may confer with the leaders of neighboring states on issues of mutual interests as well as regional cooperation.
Head of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Secretariat, Esfandiar Rahim Mashae, Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, Senior Advisor, Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi, and Vice President for Executive Affairs, Hamid Baghaei, are accompanying the president during the visit.
Norwuz international festivity was marked last year in Tajikistan.
Heads of states and high ranking officials from twelve countries including presidents of Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Tatarstan along with representative of the UN secretary general will attend the ceremony.
