Resistance Bolsters Amid Tensions; Gaza Maneuver, Mourning, and West Bank Arrests

Amidst the persistent oppressive measures and arrests by the Israeli enemy in the West Bank, along with a series of incursions into Al-Aqsa and attempts at desecration, not to mention the discriminatory and hostile actions of Ben Gvir against prisoners in detention.

In the face of these challenges, the resistance remains resolute and unyielding, focusing on enhancing its capabilities to confront these adversities and ultimately achieve the anticipated victory.

“Extreme Corner 4” Military Exercise

Against this backdrop, the Shehab Agency, citing sources within the Palestinian resistance, has announced the commencement of the “Extreme Corner 4” military exercise in the Gaza Strip, scheduled for next Tuesday.

This one-day maneuver, conducted by various resistance factions, is expected to feature a range of tactical scenarios, including engagements with the enemy, site infiltrations, marksmanship, controlled explosions, and simulated soldier captures, much akin to previous exercises.

The primary objective of this maneuver is to evaluate the response time of the resistance forces to emergency situations and assess the readiness of fighters to mobilize and counteract aggression.

It is worth noting that previous maneuvers, namely “Extreme Corner-1” in December 2020, “Extreme Corner-2” in December 2021, and “Extreme Corner-3” on December 28, 2022, have been instrumental in refining the resistance’s combat readiness.

Funeral at Al-Arroub

Today, a large congregation gathered to bid farewell to the young martyr, Milad Al-Rai, in the Arroub camp, located north of Hebron. The funeral procession, attended by throngs of mourners, traversed Al-Arroub camp after the arrival of Milad’s remains, which were laid to rest in the city’s cemetery following a farewell at his residence.

A protest was observed in Al-Arroub camp, situated north of Al-Khalil (Hebron), to commemorate the memory of martyr Al-Rai. Calls were made to rally at points of contact with the occupation forces and ignite resistance. The 15-year-old boy, Milad Munther Al-Rai, lost his life last night after sustaining grave injuries from Israeli gunfire during confrontations north of Al-Khalil.

Medical teams had valiantly attempted to revive Milad’s heart and lungs while transporting him to Al-Yamamah Hospital in Bethlehem.

The Hamas movement issued a statement, expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of martyr Al-Rahi. The statement emphasized that the Palestinian people will persist in their struggle across all regions, confronting the occupation and thwarting its escalating assaults on their people and sacred sites, with Al-Aqsa Mosque at its heart. The ongoing battle with the occupier is expected to culminate in its defeat and the restoration of our people’s freedom.

Arrests

In the early hours of Sunday, occupation forces initiated a widespread arrest campaign and conducted raids in various West Bank regions, amidst sporadic confrontations and armed clashes.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces entered the city of Jericho at dawn, deploying several military vehicles. This arrival led to confrontations between local youth and the occupying forces. Additionally, intermittent clashes occurred between an armed group and the occupation soldiers.

The occupation forces accessed Jericho via Iron Factory Street, establishing a checkpoint on Amman Street within the city limits.

Following the entry of occupation forces into Jericho, clashes erupted between local youth and the occupying forces, who resorted to firing rubber-coated metal bullets at the young protestors along Amman Street.

Hunger Strikes Ongoing

Three Palestinian detainees remain on an open-ended hunger strike today in protest of their unfair administrative detention under Israel’s so-called administrative detention policy, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Detainees Kayed al-Fasfous and Sultan Khlouf have been on hunger strike for 39 days, while detainee Maher al-Akhras has been on hunger strike for 19 days, all in protest of their detention without charges or trial.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said although the health conditions of the three detainees are deteriorating as a result of their hunger strike, the Israel Prison Service has not heeded their demands.

One of the three hunger-striking detainees, Sultan Khlouf, is currently suffering from vomiting, blurred vision, severe headaches, dizziness, and difficulty standing, PPS added.

The occupying state of Israel is holding at least 1,201 Palestinians under administrative detention without charge or trial – the highest number since human rights groups began collecting monthly data in 2001, according to Israeli Prison Service data obtained by rights group HaMoked.
