Islamic Iran Hunts Down US backed Al-Qaeda Members

A senior Iranian police chief announced here on Tuesday that five members of an al-Qaeda terrorist cell have been captured in Iran’s Southeastern province of Kerman.
“Five members of the al-Qaeda have been arrested by the Law Enforcement Police in Kerman,” Kerman Province’s Police Chief General Hossein Chenarian told reporters.

The commander added that the captured terrorists planed to smuggle large cargos of weapons, ammunitions and explosives into Iran, but failed to do so due to the insightful measures taken by the police of Kerman.

A cache of weapons and ammunitions as well as documents have also been discovered and seized during the operation, Chenarian noted.

The police chief further pointed out that Iranian intelligence officers are now pursuing the case with the activities of these terrorists in Iran, and said the terrorists intended to carry out acts of sabotage in Iran.

“These arrested foreign nationals are al-Qaeda affiliates and are nationals of Iran’s western neighbors,” the commander added.
