Erdoğan’s critics in Turkey believe that he is the major responsible figure for murder of Syria people.
These critics maintain that Erdoğan had made Turkey a plaything for great powers, and that his government had spared no opportunity to revive the Ottoman empire; spends public budgets for supporting FSA and Al-Nusra front terrorists in Syria; adopts Arabic traditional attire; and, poses himself as kings for those who have abandoned their homes to escape the terrorism supported by Erdoğan, and live in camps where tens of women are being raped and harassed on daily basis, or where, a few days ago, a Syrian child was arrested for objecting the police for harassing one of his female relatives.
Now, Erdoğan has accused Iran of backing Assad in Syria, a country which has been the frontline of resisting Israel, which has secret and amicable ties with Turkey. Erdoğan, as if forgot everything, addressed Iran, saying that “I ask the leader who is now sitting [Imam] Khomeini’s seat that how long you would ignore these mass murders?”
This is the exact question asked by people, opposition parties in Turkey and public around the world from Erdoğan; that how long would you back Israel’s mercenaries and continue mass murders? That why Assad has been in the focus of attacks from Israel and its official and unofficial allies such as US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey is clear. But if amicable relations with murderers of the citizens are despicable, so why would Turkish officials have close ties with Israel? Why they would have relations with the US, which is the cause of deaths of thousands of innocent people in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Iran has always emphasized on solving Syrian crisis through negotiation, while Turkish Army, far from encouraging clashing groups, sends arms to rebels of Al-Nusra Front and Al-Qaeda. Is not Turkey red-handed in killings? Does not Erdoğan’s prescription on the necessity of respecting Kurds’ rights hold true about Kurds in Turkey?
Obviously, it can be said that Erdoğan is one of the major players responsible for murders and homelessness of hundreds of thousands of Syrians. This is the fact believed to by analysts inside Turkey as well. Kemal Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu leader of the main Turkish opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) addressed Erdoğan. “Erdoğan is a major figure responsible for murders in Syria. Civilians are killed in Syria and you [Erdoğan] your Foreign Minister are a cause of death, and. There is a war of brothers in Syria, and Turkey, with so long magnificent history, has been a plaything for powers. You send commander, arms, money, and say ‘go and kill your brother.’ Erdoğan says ‘with help from God, Assad will be overthrown.’ His words came while Israel was attacking Syria. The ‘help from God’ was Israeli jets. Do you a bit of conscience?” said Kılıçdaroğlu.
He also pointed to Erdoğan’s visit to Gaza. “Why did you visit Gaza then? They told you [the US officials] first come to the US and then visit Gaza. I would not accept that a foreign country dictates Turkey’s prime minister’s first visit,” he said.
Other parties in Turkey also have the same opinion of Erdoğan. Devlet Bahçeli, the chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), for example, has addressed Erdoğan. “You are accusing Assad of killing Syrian children, and at the same time, you bargain with terrorists’ leaders. Your administration soon would come to an end, and with it the political propaganda will go like air bubbles on the surface. Then, Turkey will find that what damages Erdoğan had brought about on Turkey’s international prestige to win the consent of the US and Israel,” he asserted.
