US, Israeli regime increasingly isolated: Analyst

A political commentator says Israel and its main supporter, the United States, have become increasingly isolated in the world, Press TV reports.

Israel “is becoming increasingly isolated and the United States, actually, is suffering from the same thing. They are beginning to lose power,” Paul Larudee, with the Free Palestine Movement, said in an interview from Berkeley.

The commentator said that the US’s unconditional support for the aggressive Israeli policies has led to the waning of US influence in various regions of the world.

Israel has launched three wars on the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip since 2008.

US President Barack Obama has taken no concrete steps to stop the Tel Aviv regime’s aggressions against Palestinians.

Commenting on a special meeting of the High Contracting Parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention next week in Switzerland , Larudee said that the forum would not necessarily follow the US and had remained largely out of “the US and NATO clutches.”

Switzerland, the Depository of the Fourth Geneva Convention, called the meeting following a request put forward by the Palestinian Authority. The meeting is scheduled for December 17.

Palestinians joined the convention in April, following the breakdown of the US-backed Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
