zionist Israel seeks to spread Iranophobia: Iran lawmaker

An Iranian lawmaker has lashed out at Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for depicting a cartoon bomb to draw a “red line” on Iran’s nuclear energy program, saying the Tel Aviv regime seeks to spread Iranophobia.

“Israel seeks to spread Iranophobia by showing a cartoon bomb and [seeks] to say that Iran will achieve enriched uranium for [building] a nuclear weapon by next summer,” a member of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Mohammad-Hassan Asfari said on Saturday.

However, Iran has no need for and belief in nuclear weapons and believes that the countries that possess nuclear weapons should dismantle such arms, he added.

He noted that the Iranian nation has made its decision to acquire nuclear energy know-how and use it for peaceful purposes, emphasizing that no one can block the Iranians’ will.

The Iranian legislator said the nuclear weapons of the Israeli regime pose the biggest danger to the international community and urged global organizations and bodies as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to immediately deal with the Tel Aviv regime’s weapons of mass destruction.

During his speech to the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Netanyahu made baseless allegations against Iran and drew red lines for Iran’s nuclear energy program, claiming that Tehran would acquire military nuclear capability by next summer.

Israel is stepping up threats of carrying out a unilateral strike against Iran’s nuclear energy facilities. However, the US opposes any Israeli military action at the current juncture with presidential elections less than two months away.

Iran has vehemently refuted the allegation, and has promised a crushing response to any military aggression.

The Israeli regime is the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, and has invariably refused to either allow inspections of its nuclear facilities or join the NPT.
