Hamas Top Leader Meshaal arrives in Jordan on an official visit

Khaled Meshaal, the political bureau chairman of Hamas, arrived in Amman on Sunday on an official few days visit to Jordan, political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet Al-Resheq said.

Resheq did not divulge more details about the visit; however, sources said that Mishaal is expected to meet the Jordanian monarch along with a number of officials.

Mishaal visited Jordan in 2012 on more than one occasion after relations between Jordan and Hamas progressed into a new stage of political contacts after years of merely security contacts.

Meanwhile, an official Qatari source said that Mishaal reached the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani over the phone on Monday.

The source said that a review of developments in the Palestinian arena was made during the telephone conversation.
