Resheq: Aqsa to remain solely Islamic

Political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet Al-Resheq has affirmed that the Aqsa Mosque would remain solely Islamic and would be liberated at the hands of free, steadfast people.

Resheq said in a statement on his Facebook page on Wednesday on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the burning of the Aqsa Mosque that the Israeli occupation authority’s persistent attempt to Judaize the holy site would fail.

“Resistance and steadfastness are the guarantor for the protection of the Aqsa,” he said, adding that IOA crimes would not be forgotten by the lapse of time.

A fire, started by an Australian Jew, on 21st August 1969 had destroyed the eastern flank of the Aqsa Mosque including its historical pulpit and threatened its pure silver dome.
