Lavrov: Syria chemical weapons removal going very well

The Syrian chemical weapons’ removal is going very well, says Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT on Wednesday.
Lavrov recalled that the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have expressed relief over the implementation of relevant agreements, a matter that is completely overlooked by the US.
“The US has began since day one to sound alarm saying that the Syrian government is stalling the process and not doing its job,’’ Lavrov said.
The OPCW announced Tuesday that Syria has handed over 86.5 per cent of its chemical weapons.
