French protesters have held a rally to show their anger at plans to cut social security payments for almost half a million citizens.
According to Press TV, Senior citizens held large demonstrations across the country after France’s socialist government announced cost-cutting plans, under which some 500,000 seniors will have their social security payments lowered.
Purchasing power has been France’s number one-concern for years. The waves of regressive taxes and social service cuts enacted by Hollande have also impoverished retirees more than any other social classes.
