The battle for Al-Bureijj in the Aleppo Governorate has recently erupted into all-out war between a conglomerate of militias from the Islamic Front (Jabhat Al-Islamiyya) and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – backed by National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah (Party of God) – as they fight for control of this imperative area northeast of the Hanano District.

On Monday, the Islamic Front was successful in retaking the West District of Al-Manaasher (Sawmill); which is directly adjacent to the village of Al-Bureijj. The Islamic Front was also able to infiltrate the SAA’s positions at the Stone Quarries and retake the southern access, forcing the former to withdraw north in order to regroup. The Islamic Front received reinforcements on Sunday and they have been crucial in their recent success.

Earlier today, the SAA countered the Islamic Front’s brief offensive at the Stone Quarries; however, no significant gains were made in this area by either force. Fierce clashes continue to engulf the village of Al-Bureijj; this will prove to be the most decisive battle in the Aleppo Governorate, as both forces attempt to capture as much territory as possible.

Near the Al-Zahra Quarter in west Aleppo, 143 fighters from a local rebel group turned themselves in to the Syrian Security Forces in order to seek the amnesty law offered by the Syrian Government. The rebel fighters will have their cases heard by a municipal judge and as long as no crime was committed against the Syrian people – they will be granted amnesty.

At the Al-‘Amariyya District in southern Aleppo, the SAA and NDF continued their offensive to capture this area near the Sheikh Sa’eed Power Plant. Earlier today, the SAA targeted an Islamic Front gathering at the Central Quarter of the district, killing scores of militants before capturing their heavy weaponry.
