US strategy in Afghanistan, failure

Press TV has interviewed Kevin Ovenden, with the Stop the War Coalition from Athens, to discuss the slow-paced withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

The political commentator said the ongoing discussions between the American and Afghan officials about keeping US troops in Afghanistan even beyond 2016 demonstrate a continuing failure in the US strategy.

He added that the US has failed to achieve any sort of victory in Afghanistan and is now seeking a settlement with the Taliban.
