A commander of the Iraqi popular forces underlined his forces and the Iraqi army’s upper hand against the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group in Beiji and its countryside, including the well-known Beiji oil refinery, FNA reports.

Faleh al-Khazali, a Shiite militia commander in the Hashed al-Shaabi movement, in a press statement claimed that hashed al-Shaabi forces have been successful in fighting the ISIL in all battlefields.

He added that the Iraqi popular forces in the last three days destroyed some 60 ISIL vehicles in Beiji with explosives.

He also claimed that the Beiji oil refinery is totally controlled by the Iraqi forces.

Earlier this month, the Iraqi defense ministry said that an Iraqi policeman stormed the hideout of a 15-member group of the ISIL terrorists in surrounding areas of Beiji in Salahuddin province and killed all members of the group.

“A member of the Iraq federal police have killed all fifteen members of a group of the ISIL militants and destroyed their 3 military vehicles in Beiji,” the ministry said.
