Syrian Army Engages in Heavy Fighting with Terrorists in Deir Ezzur’s Neighborhoods
The Syrian army men stormed the ISIL strongholds and concentration centers in the neighborhoods of al-Haweiqa, al-Jabileh and al-Sina’ah, which not only claimed the lives of several terrorists but inflicted serious damage on their military vehicles and equipment.
Reports said earlier today that the ISIL left behind nearly 30 dead and many more wounded members and retreated after their attempts to prevail over the government forces’ lines of defense near Deir Ezzur were thwarted by the Syrian Army’s strong defense and Russian air force’s bombardments.
The Syrian army, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, repelled the ISIL offensives near the strategic Deir Ezzur airbase, which ended in the killing of nearly 30 terrorists and wounding of 30 more.
The Russian warplanes did not leave any chance for the ISIL to regroup and targeted their convoy of fresh forces before reaching to the battlefield.
