Iranian Petrochemical Plant Producing High-Quality Gasoline

A major petrochemical plant in southwest of Iran is producing one million liters of gasoline a day in compliance with the Euro-4 emission standards, an official said.

Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex, located at Iran’s southwestern port of Bandar Imam Khomeini, is now producing a daily volume of 1 million liters of gasoline that meets the Euro-4 emission standards, Abbas She’ri, an official with the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) of Iran told Tasnim.

He noted that the petrochemical plant has the capacity to produce up to 1.5 million liters of Euro-4 gasoline a day.

Iran has devised plans to develop new oil refineries to reduce pressure on the petrochemical plants that produce gasoline to meet the country’s demands.

In March, Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said the Persian Gulf Star gas condensate refinery, south of Iran, will fully come on stream by the next 1.5 years.

The first phase of the refinery is expected to become operational within the next six months, he noted, saying it will supply the country with 12 million liters of gasoline in compliance with the Euro-4 emission standards and would consequently make Iran self-sufficient in meeting its domestic needs for gasoline.
