
The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) liberated 155km of territory in western Mosul over the last 14 hours, their official media wing reported this morning
Hashd Al-Sha’abi began the day by liberating the village of Tal Shehab in western Mosul, killing an estimated 25 Islamic State terrorists in the process.
Following the liberation of Tal Shehab, Hashd Al-Sha’abi captured a handful of villages from the Islamic State, including ‘Ayn Al-Jahish Al-Gharbi, Tal Zilata, and Al-Masayid.
The Popular Mobilization Units are now within striking distance of the key town of Tal Afar, which is considered one of the Islamic State’s last strongholds before Mosul.
