The sources said that tens of civilians that tried to leave Mosul for government-controlled regions were killed by the ISIL terrorists, adding ISIL has hanged a number of bodies of executed civilians up power poles across the city.
They added that ISIL has again used chemical weapons against the Iraqi forces and civilians in Mosul.
In the meantime, Iraqi Kurdistan’s Security Council informed that 140 civilians have been killed by the ISIL in Mosul in recent days.
Meanwhile, Mosul municipality Chief Abdul Sattar Habbo said that the ISIL militants used poisonous gas against civilians in Iraqi city of Mosul on Friday.
“The Daesh (ISIL) used shells with poisonous gas against civilians and government troops in the districts of Yarmouk and Matahin that had already been liberated,” Habbo said.
He added that there was no information about the number of the victims of the chemical attack.
Local reports said on Thursday that the Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces killed thirty ISIL members after repulsing an attack launched by the terrorists in Western Mosul.
“The eighth brigade confronted on Thursday an attack by ISIL militants in al-Hadar area, West of Mosul, ” the PMF media service said, Iraqi News reported.
The service added that the Iraqi popular troops, locally known as Hashd al-Shaabi, encountered the attack, killing 30 ISIL members and destroying three booby-trapped motorbikes with weapons on them.
Meanwhile, the troops also exploded a booby-trapped vehicle that targeted the supply roads in the Southwest of Mosul.
“The 33rd brigade exploded a booby trapped vehicle before its arrival as it was targeting the supply roads southwestern Mosul,” the media service said.
