Syrian Army in striking distance from the last ISIS bastion in Aleppo

Only 3 kilometres left between the frontline positions of Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) elite Tiger Forces division and the last stronghold of the so-called “Islamic State” (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) in Aleppo province, after latest advance made by government forces in the region.

About half an hour ago, Tiger Forces command announced their troops had imposed full control over Sukkariyah village which is situated 3 kilometres west of Maskanah town, the aforementioned IS bastion.

Military sources informed Al-Masdar News that jihadists have already started retreating from Maskanah as Syrian Army is now in position to begin assault on the town.

It is noteworthy that IS-affiliated Amaq agency published a batch of photos taken in the region earlier this morning. Those photos were probably taken exactly in the area which fell into hands of Tiger Forces just hours later.
