Fresh troops pour into Deir Ezzor to beef up Army advance

More reinforcements are deployed to the battlefield city of Deir Ezzor to shore up the Syrian Army’s advance in the eastern province.

Today, units from the Ministry of Interior’s Special Mission Force were sent to Deir Ezzor from the central city of Homs as the government amasses troops for final battle against the Islamic State.

The security personnel are specifically trained for urban warfare, which is highly expected to take place soon as the Syrian forces prepare to storm the ISIS-held districts of the city.

In a related context, fighters of the paramilitary national Defense Forces from the southern province of Daraa have been also dispatched to take part in the battle for Deir Ezzor.
