Syrian Army crosses Euphrates again, reaches strategic bridge

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) once again crossed the Euphrates River after launching a big assault within the provincial capital of Deir Ezzor.

Led by the 5th Legion and 17th Reserve Division, the Syrian Arab Army crossed the Euphrates River this morning, attacking the Marat Fouqani area that was under the control of the Islamic State (ISIS).

Shortly after launching their attack, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the entire Marat Fouqani area, inching them closer to besieging the Islamic State forces inside the provincial capital.

In addition to liberating the Marat Fouqani area, the Syrian Arab Army also reached the Siyasiyah Bridge, which is one of the most important crossing points for the Islamic State in Deir Ezzor City.

The Syrian Arab Army is now working to capture this bridge in order to besiege the remaining Islamic State terrorists holed-up in the provincial capital.
