Ja’far Tayyar Maneuver to begin May 14

The Iranian Army Ground Force plans to hold the first joint maneuver codenamed ‘Ja’far Tayyar’ which will include attack and counter attack exercises using the units deployed in southeast Iran.
According to a report by the Army’s Public Relations Department, deputy commander of Army, Brigadier Abdolrahim Mousavi who will monitor the trend of the war game, said that multiple-purpose battalions of the Ground Force, helicopter gunships, jet fighters and counter attack units will conduct the maneuver.
Ja’far Tayyar Maneuver, named after a companion of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), will begin on May 14 and will continue until the weekend, he said.
