Iraq Hebollah Hashd Al-Shaabi forces block invader US troops from conducting survey along Syrian border
Iraq’s Hashd Al-Sha’abi (var. Popular Mobilization Units) forces reportedly blocked a U.S. patrol unit that was attempting to conduct a “suspicious survey” along the Syrian border, Iraqi activists reported on Tuesday.
According to the reports, the commander of Hashd Al-Sha’abi’s forces in the Al-Anbar Governorate said that the U.S. troops were asking Iraqi soldiers a number of questions about their combat points, manpower, and amount of ammunition and weapons they had in the area.
Hashd Al-Sha’abi is currently deployed along the vast Deir Ezzor-Anbar border, which links western Iraq with eastern Syria.
The Iraqi group works hand-in-hand with their country’s army to monitor the border and ensure the security of this province.
