IRGC Commander: Iranian Naval Forces’ Power, Superiority Bars Enemies from Adventurism

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy’s First Zone Brigadier General Abbas Gholamshahi said that the Iranian naval forces’ might and intelligence superiority over the enemies deters them from making any aggression against the country.

“Enemy confrontation in the Persian Gulf has shifted from hard warfare to psychological operations,” General Gholamshahi said in the port city of Bandar Abbas on Tuesday night.

“The high capability of the Iranian Armed Forces, intelligence and operational superiority, and the high mobility and vigilance of the IRGC Navy and Army’s Navy in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman have discouraged the enemy from adventurism and made it focus most of their actions on psychological and media operations,” he added.

His comments came a day after IRGC Top Commander Major General Salami warned Israel not to shorten its life by making a wrong and aggressive move against Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is waiting a wrong move by Zionist regime to destroy it completely, General Salami said, addressing a meeting of media companions held at the venue of Conference Hall of IRGC on the occasion of National Journalists’ Day on Monday.

He also emphasized the key role and status of journalists and media in the contemporary world of today and the need to use effective methods to express facts and confront the enemy’s media war.

There has been a dangerous escalation in the region in recent weeks against the backdrop of a suspected drone attack last week that targeted an Israeli-managed tanker – Mercer Street – off the coast of Oman.

The regime in Tel Aviv and its Western allies, Britain and the US, accuse Iran of orchestrating the attack. Tehran says the “baseless” and “childish” allegations are vehemently rejected.

Iran has warned that it will not hesitate to give a crushing response to any threat against its security.

Tehran wrote to the United Nations Security Council last Wednesday, warning about recent suspicious attempts to create artificial maritime “incidents” in the Persian Gulf and the broader region, urging a swift end to such “irresponsible acts” that harm the region’s peace.

Also, last Wednesday, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami underlined that Iran’s response to the threats waged by enemies against the country will be devastating and will make them feel regret.

“We warn them (enemies) to learn from the past and know that our response to enemies’ threats will be more destructive and regrettable,” General Salami said

“Ever since the Islamic Republic of Iran was established successfully, enemies left no stone unturned and made their utmost efforts to take advantage of events that sometimes took place inside the country in the fields of water or electricity shortages and similar issues.”

“We are in the process of transferring the government which differs from the power transfer that takes place in the United States, and this transition of government in Iran is dignified, healthy and peaceful, and we are going through the political process,” General Salami added.
