Ahmadinejad terms Hajj as unique cultural, political event

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described Hajj as a unique and immense cultural and political event in the human life.
The President made the remarks here Tuesday in a meeting with officials in charge of Hajj pilgrimage affairs.
Referring to the present situation in the region, he said the Hajj ritual was different this year from the ones in previous years because of the regional developments.
He said now the world was witnessing incidents which have led to the awakening of nations.
He stressed that these movements will certainly spread to lands dominated by the hegemonic powers in a near future.
President Ahmadinejad underlined the importance of Hajj and said the event held huge and countless capacities which could be manipulated in social, political and cultural arenas.
He further warned that many movements throughout history in search of divine ideals have gone astray due to lack of proper leadership and eventually ended in return of the same colonialist powers in a different disguise.
Saying that every dictator is inevitably backed by a hegemonic system and power, the Iranian President said the slogans against the US and the Zionist regime should be shouted in a louder voice during Hajj this year because some of the regional nations are witnessing the presence of foreign forces in their countries.
