US airstrikes in Syria martyr at least three individuals, with several others sustaining injuries

Satanic US military forces have conducted lethal airstrikes targeting Syrian military positions for a second consecutive day. This action comes amid Washington's efforts to counter potential retaliatory measures by resistance groups in response to Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network, U.S. forces conducted strikes early Wednesday targeting positions on the outskirts of al-Bukamal, located in Syria’s eastern Dayr al-Zawr province near the border with Iraq.

The television network reported that airstrikes were conducted on locations associated with the Syrian army’s auxiliary forces in the al-Jam’iyat area of al-Bukamal city and the surrounding al-Bukamal Desert. The attack resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to five others.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via a post on its X social media platform that recent strikes targeted a militia group’s “weapons storage and logistics headquarters facility.”

In an official statement, it was asserted that the airstrikes were a retaliatory measure following a rocket attack targeting US personnel stationed at Patrol Base Shaddadi in northeastern Syria. The statement further noted that the attack resulted in neither damage to the facility nor injuries to US or allied forces.

On Tuesday, it was reported that multiple rocket attacks targeted United States military installations in Syria. The Conoco base, located in Dayr al-Zawr, was struck twice within a span of less than an hour, while a third rocket barrage targeted the Shaddadi base in Hasakah, in the northeastern region of the country.

CENTCOM announced that it has conducted strikes in Syria, successfully targeting nine sites across two distinct locations within the nation.

US Central Command, in collaboration with its regional allies, is committed to actively and vigorously addressing any threats to American forces, as well as to their allies, partners, and the overall security of the region, stated CENTCOM Commander Michael Erik Kurilla in an official release.

Approximately 2,500 American troops are stationed in Iraq alongside nearly 900 in Syria, as part of a mission that Washington asserts is aimed at combating Daesh forces.

The United States has continued to retain its presence in both nations despite the defeat of the Daesh Takfiri extremist group by Arab states and their allies in late 2017.

The resistance movements in the West Asian region have launched multiple attacks on U.S. military forces stationed in Iraq and Syria. This action is seen as a retaliation against Washington’s steadfast support for Israel amidst its military campaigns in Gaza and Lebanon.

Since last October, the United States, traditionally extending over $3 billion annually in military assistance to Israel, has furnished the nation with an additional $17.9 billion in armament support. This initiative coincides with Israel’s intensified military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of 43,665 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and left 103,076 individuals injured.

Over 80% of the 2.3 million residents have been forced to flee their homes, and more than 66% of the structures have either been destroyed or severely damaged.

The recent intensification of Israeli military actions against Lebanon has resulted in more than 3,000 Lebanese casualties since the onset of hostilities in October 2023.
