Israeli media outlets have reported that on Wednesday a unit of Hezbollah fighters, numbering four, launched an attack targeting Golani brigade soldiers inside a building in southern Lebanon. The assault resulted in the deaths of six Israeli soldiers and left several others injured.
According to reports from Israeli media outlets, Golani Brigade forces engaged in operations in southern Lebanon encountered close-range gunfire upon entering a building.
The Israeli Occupation Army Radio reported that Golani forces were involved in an incident in the western section of southern Lebanon. The situation unfolded at approximately 10 a.m. when soldiers from the Golani Brigade’s Battalion 51 entered a structure in the area.
Upon entry by the forces, four Hezbollah combatants surfaced from a tunnel and commenced firing at the troops. Concurrently, positions in adjacent structures also witnessed gunfire from Hezbollah, while an anti-tank missile was dispatched towards the building.
According to the report, casualties were evacuated amid Hezbollah gunfire, with the incident concluding at 1 p.m.
Hezbollah conducted a series of 24 strategic operations on Wednesday, targeting Israeli forces in South Lebanon and launching an attack on the defense ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv.
